With great joy we have inspired other people for our project and have infected them with the Canfranc virus. We would like to do so in the future, too. On this page we report about some of our exhibitions. Thus, you participate in intensive moments of enthusiasm which we shared with our visitors. Here, we will also report about future exhibitions.
The Canfranc project
“The Canfranc-Project” – Photo exhibition in the Torreon Norte of the International Station of Canfranc, Spain
In July 2000 a picture exhibition took place at an adjacent building of the train station. The exhibition, which was promoted by the community of Canfranc, attracted remarkable attention accompanied by good critiques of the local media of the district.

“Terminus Canfranc – decay of an European vision” – Photo exhibition in Aschaffenburg, August 2001
From August 12th to September 2nd 2001 an extensive exhibition of the work was presented at the “Neuer Kunstverein / KunstLANDing” in Aschaffenburg. The former vice president of the European parliament, Ursula Schleicher, Member of the EP, could be won over to the project. At the inauguration of the exhibition on August 11th 2001 she spoke about the European aspects of the projekt and the future chances of the complex in Canfranc. Frank Freihofer, commercial photographer, reviewed the pictures, thereby introducing the visitors to the subject. The press of the Rhine-Main area as well as the regional television stations picked up the subject with great interest.

Canfranc - present and future
“Canfranc – present and future” – Photo exhibition in the European Parliament in Straßburg, September 2001
With the help of Ms. Schleicher and in close cooperation with the member of the European Parliament for the region of Aragon, Ms. Maria Antonia Avilés, the photographers showed their work at the European Parliament in Straßburg in September 2001. The exhibition was opened by the European commissioner for transport and vice president of the European Committee, Loyola de Palacio. Several of the representatives of the Spanish media reported in detail on the exhibition of pictures. In particular the photographers were glad about that the mayor of Canfranc, the vice president of the Parliament of Aragon and the Spanish consul at the European Council were present at the occasion.
